The hotel is welcoming to pets, allowing us to enjoy our time without leaving our dog behind, which was a notable convenience. Offering free parking right outside our room made the logistics of traveling with a pet seamless. The accommodation itself was comfortable and clean, providing essential amenities such as a flat-screen TV and complimentary tea and coffee facilities. Some basic maintenance could enhance the experience, as a couple of light bulbs were out, diminishing the room's coziness and making it difficult to read at night. A better mattress could significantly elevate the overall comfort of the stay. Dining at the hotel was commendable, with generous portion sizes that provided excellent value for money. The evening meals, including a traditional full Scottish breakfast, showcased flavors at reasonable prices. A refresh of the restaurant's aesthetic might better match the quality of the food provided. Solway Lodge presents a wise choice for travelers seeking an affordable yet comfortable retreat, balancing luxury with value in an accessible manner.
